Use die cuts to make your printed piece stand out in a crowd

MSUM PacketLet’s talk for a moment about how you can make your printed piece stand out with die cutting. When cutting through paper with reveal windows, custom shapes or pop-ups, your piece will come to life.

No longer will you need a flat generic piece when it can have dimension, movement and shapes that add interest to your project.

You don’t need to just use squares and rectangles. Create unique shapes, match logos, even letters that will enhance your design. You can engage customers with die cutting that wow the recipient and leave an impression. Your pieces can be creative, exciting, and functional so people will want to keep them.

Die cut pieces that are 3D can literally stand alone and add depth. Think of the possibilities for items to be left behind with a client or displayed in your place of business.

At Image Printing , we have a variety of dies on hand and can help you to create a custom die for your specific needs. Visit with any of our Account Executives for additional die cut information and for all your printing needs.

Preflighting in Adobe Acrobat

Acrobat Preflight

Did you know you can preflight files in Adobe Acrobat? You can catch any unseen errors that you may have missed before you submit your files such as missing fonts, RGB images, bleeds, etc. This can be particularly helpful when your native files are created in programs other than InDesign which has a preflight tab already built into the software.

See the video below for tips on how to preflight your document in Adobe Acrobat.

When you want to take your print project to a next level, foil stamping can add that additional level of distinction required to separate you from the rest.

With our extensive knowledge and years of experience we can assist you with choosing from the many varieties of reflective or pigment foils that will complement your project perfectly. Foil stamping is a process by where a durable brass die created from your beautiful artwork is heated and stamped onto the foil of your choice. The thin layer of foil film then transfers to the paper surface, leaving the chosen design imprinted beautifully on the paper. Gold and silver are the most commonly used to create a glossy or reflective finish, but there are a multitude of pigment foils available as well.

Foil stamping can be combined with embossing to create an even more complex and striking 3D image. Besides its great appearance, foil stamping does not require ink, it’s durable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly. Although choosing to foil stamp your next project may require additional cost for the brass die, it is well worth the end result. Keep in mind organization and time should be considered in the equation.

Some common uses for foil stamping include wedding invitations, napkins, book covers, stationary packages, pocket folders, annual reports and specialty branding items. Ask your Image Printing Account Executive how you can take your next print project to a higher level.
